Seroma After Surgery
I’M SO OVER THIS!!!!
Surgery went well. Come to find out the right side that had been dealing with countless infections was never going to heal without a second surgery. The doctor said a pocket had formed that “healed” inside. That meant the pocket would have never grown together.
The doctor opened up along the same incision line and cut out the balloon pocket that had formed. It ended up being more of a surgery than expected, because of that I was the lucky winner of another drain.
A few days into the healing and BAMMM another infection! Are you $#@%& kidding me?!?! Back on antibiotics I go. Jan 6th I got the drain pulled, and the infection was moving in the right direction.
On the 11th I had 90cc’s of fluid drained from the right pocket of my chest . I’ve kept my compression bandage on, but it’s completely filled up again. Below the incision line the skin has started to turn purplish color as well. What’s a girl have to do? I have a call into the doctor again, because as of today the pocket has completely filled back up, and will most likely need to be drained again.
Tomorrow is my last day of this round of antibiotics. Any bets on the infection returning? I wish I had hope that it won’t return but with my given history these past few months I have little hope.
Why can’t my body just heal?

WORK UPDATE:
Last Monday (9th) was my first day back working at the office. I’ve been working FT through all this but remotely. The boys welcomed me with open arms. It was pretty sweet. Why is it so much more exhausting doing the same work wearing pants vs pjs?
